CFPs : NEW 16-bit Sensor Signal Conditioner
ZMDI's new generation of high-precision signal conditioner provides energy-efficient high accuracy amplification & high resolution output
Dresden, Germany -- ZMD AG (ZMDI) has introduced a class-leading 16-bit sensor signal conditioning IC (SSC) for calibrated resistive sensor modules. The ZSSC3016 combines high accuracy amplification, 16-bit precision analog-to-digital conversion, and an 18-bit DSP for linearization and calibration functions. The high resolution sensor interface ASSP provides special features for battery driven low power devices, such as an overall current consumption of less than 1 mA combined with an ultra low standby current of less than 250 nA, operation voltages between 1.8 and 3.6 V and an intelligent power save scheme to ensure lowest overall current consumption.
Designed for high resolution altimeter module applications, the ZSSC3016 is ideal for use in mobile phones, sport watches or outdoor GPS tracking systems.

DAQ & DAS : Versatile Datalogging Solution From dataTaker
CHESTERLAND OH, USA —-- CAS Dataloggers recently provided the datalogging solution for a large manufacturer of thermally efficient and lightweight building panels whose insulated products were used extensively in the construction of a highly energy-efficient home. The manufacturer wanted to set up continual temperature monitoring over an extended period of time that would demonstrate all the energy and cost benefits of its thermally-efficient materials; the home would initially be used for display purposes, after which time it would be occupied for a full year to validate its high energy efficiency rating.
In order to prove that its materials and design were superior and would save customers money through lower monthly utility bills, the manufacturer began searching for a datalogging solution with the flexibility to measure both internal and external environmental conditions via a wide range of sensors and which offered both a large number of inputs for temperature sensors and a large data storage capacity.

New Products : ZMD AG (ZMDI) to sponsor, exhibit smart power management devices at APEC 2012
ZMDI will display two product lines designed to address specific application needs ranging from mobile devices to high-end systems, such as servers and storage units.
ZMDI features the ZSPM1000 and ZSPM9000 single-phase point-of-load (POL) chipset where stability, very fast transient response, and steady-state performance is necessary, such as server, storage units and other high-end applications.
In addition, ZMDI will present the ZSPM401x family of current-mode synchronous 1 A to 3 A DC/DC buck converters. Newly released in January 2012 this new product offers a small footprint, 93% (6 Vin to 3.3 Vout @ 1 A), high light-load efficiency, and 5 uA standby current to extend battery life for smart phones, tablets and other space-constrained mobile products.
