BREMEN, Germany - Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. has introduced a new application note to demonstrate the unique capabilities of the Thermo Scientific TSQ Quantum GC triple quadrupole mass spectrometer.
The company's novel solution delivers accurate quantification results quickly and provides confirmation of positive results in fast multi-residue pesticide determination. The new application note entitled "Fast Multi-Residue Pesticide Analysis Using Triple Quadrupole GC-MS/MS" is available to download from the Thermo Scientific website (link below).
International regulations on the maximum residue levels (MRLs) of pesticides in food cover hundreds of individual components in the range of 10 ppb or lower.
Currently, more than 300 regulated pesticides can be analyzed by gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS) while a large group of highly polar pesticides is covered by liquid chromatography/mass spectrometry (LC/MS) methods.
Complex elution is a particular challenge in the detection and quantification of a large number of pesticides in one run. Due to many compounds that partially or completely coelute, a high speed analyzer is required to generate a sufficient number of data points and ensure reliable integration of overlapping chromatographic peaks.

FARMINGDALE NY, USA -- Cemtrex Inc. has announced that a new line of carbon dioxide sensors has been added to their portfolio of gas sensing instruments.
The CDS 300 CO2 Sensor is the key element in applying Demand Control Ventilation (DCV), a technique that provides the precise amount of ventilation for the number of people occupying a space at a given time. Implementing this practice into commercial buildings creates energy savings on average of 26%.
Due to recent developments regarding the federal government's stimulus package, energy efficiency programs are high on the to-do list.
The market for carbon dioxide sensors has grown by 80% due to the numerous incentives that have been created to help incorporate energy efficiency practices into buildings, including rebates for the purchase of sensors and on total kilowatt reduction on a yearly basis.

Sunnyvale CA, USA -- The MAX8845Z/MAX8845Y are intelligent, stand-alone constant-current, constant-voltage (CCCV), thermally regulated linear chargers designed for charging a single-cell lithium-ion (Li+) battery.
The MAX8845Z/MAX8845Y integrate a current-sense circuit, MOSFET pass element, thermal-regulation circuitry, and eliminate the external reverse-blocking Schottky diode to create the simplest and smallest charging solutions for handheld equipment.
The ICs control the charging sequence from the pre-qualification state through constant current fast-charge, top-off charge, and full-charge indication. Proprietary thermal-regulation circuitry limits the die temperature during fast-charging or when the ICs are exposed to high ambient temperatures, allowing maximum charging current without damaging the ICs.
-Save board space by integrating a current-sense resistor, external MOSFET, reverse blocking diode, and thermal-regulation circuits in the industry's smallest package
-Include SAFEOUT linear regulator to provide 4.7V output and eliminate an external OVP IC
-Eliminate external components by using MAX8845 that contains an
autobooting assistant circuit in factory mode
