New Products : New retractable pH sensor for tough industrial applications

newproducts Endura TBX587 provides new option for difficult pH measurements

Endura pH sensor imageWarminster PA, USA -- ABB has announced the release of the Endura TBX587 Retractable pH sensor.

Responding to customer requests, the Endura TBX587 targets 1-inch NPT process connections found in sample lines in refineries, chemical plants, and other industrial applications.

The Endura TBX587 incorporates many innovative design elements into one convenient pH measurement system. The temperature compensation element has been moved to the tip of the sensor to provide response times up to 6x faster then conventional gel-filled pH sensors.

An optional IP68 Vario Pin style cable connector simplifies sensor replacement without complicated wiring or terminal strips. The mechanical design of the Endura TBX587 includes a large “T” style handle to aid in insertion and retraction into pressurized process pipelines.

Vendor : New Analytical Method Helps Control Hard-to-Measure Contamination

Maker- distributors Entegris combines precision measurement with contamination control to extend the lifetime of advanced lithography optics

CHASKA (Minneapolis) MN, USA - Entegris, Inc. introduced a new solution for accurately measuring and controlling volatile organic compounds that cause contamination in advanced semiconductor lithography processes.

If left uncontrolled, these low molecular weight, silicon-containing, organic compounds (such as TMS) have been shown to impact 248 nm and 193 nm exposure tools, and can lead to permanent damage of sensitive and costly optical components.

Entegris is is one of a few companies worldwide with analytical services capabilities to accurately sample and analyze these contaminants in the fab environment.

Manufacturers of scanner tools have already mandated the measurement of high molecular weight contaminants, but until now, there has been no means for fabs to reliably identify and quantify the presence of the low molecular weight variety.

Vendor : QualiScope II Advanced Automatic Brinell Measurement System

Maker- distributors
Ft Lauderdale FL, USA -- Qualitest presents QualiScope II, the latest technology in handheld automatic Brinell measurement systems.

QualiScope II is designed to make your testing program faster and more accurate. It also improves quality control management - it automatically stores data and is network capable.

Although the Brinell test is widely known as one of the most accurate test methods for hardness testing of metals, error in the reading of the indentation size results in measurement errors of 0.1 mm between operators - the range is even greater between labs. This error can take up your entire tolerance specification.

The QualiScope II will virtually eliminate operator influence on test results. Repeatability and reproducibility will be greatly improved using the QualiScope II measurement system; test results will no longer change with every shift change.

Gainesville FL, USA -- GEC Instruments has been awarded a contract from LSST Corporation in Tucson, Arizona, to build four ultra high accuracy, high resolution temperature measurement instruments, each with 94 thermocouple input channels, accompanied by software for display, plotting, logging, and retrieval of temperature data.

This instrumentation will be used to measure small temperature variations over the range -5 °C to 25 °C on the 27 foot diameter primary/tertiary mirror for the Large Synoptic Survey Telescope (www.lsst.org), a ground-based facility that will be located atop Cerro Pachón in the Chilean Andes.

This project requires ultra high accuracy in temperature measurements with thermocouples, and unprecedented channel to channel uniformity of ± 0.02 °C among all 376 channels of the system.
