Kenley, UK -- The OS series of Mirror Mounts from Optical Surfaces Ltd are designed to provide a secure platform for high precision flat, spherical and off-axis mirrors in applications where stability is important.
Constructed in black anodized aluminum - OS-100, OS-150, OS-200 and OS-250 Mirror Mounts provide a secure and stable platform for mirrors of 100-250mm in diameter.
Angular alignment can be made about two axes by means of dual action adjusters with fine screw and ultra-fine differential micrometer action. Using these mounts it is possible to rapidly align a mirror within a few arc seconds.
To facilitate rapid and simple mounting onto an optical table or other support each mirror mount comes with a base plate.

Amsterdam, Netherlands. -- Fluidigm Europe has announced that LGC, an international leader in laboratory services and measurement standards, has purchased a BioMark™ System for genetic analysis for use in its United Kingdom laboratories.
The system, with its integrated fluidic circuit technology, adds digital PCR to LGC's existing range of capabilities, which includes quantitative PCR, genotyping, gene expression, copy number variation and absolute quantification for sequencing.
The addition of IFC technology to LGC's portfolio will further enhance the range of services that LGC currently offers to its customers. LGC was the first company in the UK to purchase the system.
Initial LGC work with Fluidigm Integrated Fluidic Circuit (IFC) technology will focus on digital PCR and gene expression opportunities within the company's Research & Technology Division, but further application across the company's three other divisions - LGC Standards, Life & Food Sciences and LGC Forensics - is anticipated.

The MFD350 is an advanced digital ultrasonic flaw detector featuring a multi-color TFT LCD and a host of new features to meet challenging inspection requirements. It combines powerful flaw detection and measurement capabilities, extensive data storage, and the ability to transfer detailed inspection data to the PC via its high-speed USB port.
The main difference between MFD500 and MFD510 is their displays.
The MFD500 Portable Ultrasonic Flaw Detector comes with a hi-resolution color TFT Liquid Crystal Display (LCD). The background color and the trace color is selectable according to the environment.
LCD brightness is manually set. Working time on a full battery charge is more than 8 hours with high performance lithium-ion battery module (with large capacity lithium-ion battery option). The battery module is easily removed so it can be charged independently offline.
