Calibration : Janos Technology Expands Optical Testing Services
Keene, NH USA ? Janos Technology, Inc., a global supplier of advanced optical assemblies and precision infrared (IR) optics, announces the addition of the QED Sub-aperture Stitching Interferometer (SSI?). The SSI will greatly expand Janos? current range of optical fabrication and testing services by increasing interferometric capabilities, providing radius of curvature and surface figure measurements for both high numerical aperture (NA) and large aperture optics. The automated SSI work station features a 5-axis CNC machine base integrated with a Zygo VeriFire AT? phase-shifting interferometer capable of measuring lenses up to 280 mm diameter and (NA) of 1. The SSI automatically acquires and stitches sub -aperture data, calculates and compensates for reference wave-front errors thus achieving better than lambda/100 P-V accuracies (@632.8 nm).
Erik Stover, director of research and development for Janos Technology, notes, ?The new sub-aperture stitching interferometer will enhance the precision metrology that is available from Janos Technology. We?re pleased to offer this extraordinary capability to our customers who require precision metrology of high NA and large aperture optical components.?

Meetings : MTEC 2006 - Sensors, Measurement & Much More!
MTEC 2006 -- The UK?s showcase for sensors & systems - the event with long term continuity of name, venue, date and focus, MEC Birmingham UK, 15 & 16 February 2006.The sensor, measurement and instrumentation industry thrives on technological innovation and is developing very rapidly. It is vital for users to stay abreast of the latest product developments. MTEC 2006 makes that possible being the only UK show dedicated wholly to sensors, measurement and instrumentation.
Mtec 2006 is collocated with five other majpr events plus OctoMedia's 3C and MDT.
In addition, the dedicated Industrial Networks for Fieldbus and Open Systems section showcases proprietary systems, open systems and the industrial
use of Ethernet. This focus within the mtec event has proved to be a big benefit to both visitors and exhibitors. Supported by Industrial Networking and Open Control magazine.
THE INDUSTRIAL NETWORKS TECHNOLOGY CENTRE
A free seminar programme will run throughout the show with contributions from: AS-Interface UK Expert Alliance, the Profibus Group and the ISA (England Section).

New Products : BREAKTHROUGH PERFORMANCE in NIR
Santa Clara, CA USA -- The MOSIR? 950 stands alone as the world's first and exclusive NIR image intensified spectroscopy camera between 950 and 1650 nm. Based on Intevac's patented and exclusive transfer electron (TE) photocathode and electron bombarded (EB) gain technology, the MOSIR 950 is ideal for low light spectroscopy and imaging applications including Raman spectroscopy, chemical imaging, astronomy, and photoluminescence. The combination of high QE and low noise gain between 950 and 1650 nm provides far superior sensitivity than CCD's or InGaAs arrays.Read full article: 'BREAKTHROUGH PERFORMANCE in NIR'
