New Products : System for Analysis of LCD Display Temporal Behavior
Time and and luminance measurement device
Saint Clair, France -- The new generation of OPTIScope SA from ELDIM brings a breakthrough in timing evaluation by integrating full response time measurement tools, flicker measurements and an accurate luminance meter.
The new design improves the OPTIScope SA performances and its versability too. Just connect the OPTIScope SA through its USB 2.0 connection and get the measurement you are looking for. There is no need for extra card.
The software delivers acquisitions, analysis and export of the results.
The device goes beyond the existing standard requirements (ISO, VESA, EIAJ...) by extracting all timing data signatures. Screen integrators and face plate manufacturers favour the OPTIScope SA for overdrive and underdrive settings, grey-to-grey response time analysis and flicker measurements.

R & D : Research with Photons
Investigations in all fields of natural sciences using a special light generated at accelerators.
Hamburg, Germany -- At Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron's (DESY) Hamburg Synchrotron Radiation Laboratory (HASYLAB), scientists from various disciplines and researchers from industrial companies carry out experiments using radiation with very special properties, which is generated in particle accelerators. It is extremely intense, tightly collimated and emitted in short pulses. It covers a broad spectrum of electromagnetic radiation ranging from infrared and visible light to ultraviolet radiation and X-rays. One of the most exciting experiments planned was just reported in Optics.org. It is a story entitled Laser-vacuum-magnetism experiment to explain dark-matter mysteries

New Products : Automated Compound Tube & Plate Replication
New BioCel compound management configuration --
Welwyn, UK & Menlo Park, CA -- Velocity11 has announced a new configuration of its BioCel sample-processing platform configured to automate compound tube and plate replication procedures. The compound assets developed over many years of drug discovery effort are some of the most valuable assets-resources of a pharmaceutical or biotechnology organisation. Through the process of biological screening, these compounds comprise the future leads that eventually will become drug candidates. Therefore, it is critical that these compounds be managed effectively and is are widely accessible by scientific staff.
Velocity11 designed this new BioCel compound management configuration to handle compounds stored in a variety of formats including 96-well tube racks as well as 96-well, 384-well and 1536-well microplates. The new system smoothly merges the benefits of the world of tubes (compounds) with the world of microplates (assays).
