Specialised Imaging Ltd. to distribute the L3 Applied Technologies Pulse Sciences Flash X-Ray Systems in Europe
Tring, UK & San Leandro CA, USA -- Specialised Imaging Ltd. (Tring, UK) has reached agreement with L3 Applied Technologies Pulse Sciences (San Leandro, CA, USA) to distribute the L3 PS line of Flash X-Ray Systems throughout Europe.Flash X-ray systems provide a unique method of imaging very fast events which cannot be captured using normal photographic techniques. X-ray images can be obtained in 20 to 50 nanoseconds even through smoke, fire and metal.
Even under the harshest conditions precise details of a test event can be recorded.

R & D : NASA's WISE Eye on the Universe
Begins All-Sky Survey Mission - 12.14.09
[Image credit: United Launch Alliance]VANDENBERG AIR FORCE BASE CA, USA -- NASA's Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer, or WISE, lifted off over the Pacific Ocean this morning on its way to map the entire sky in infrared light.
A Delta II rocket carrying the spacecraft launched at 6:09 a.m. PST (9:09 a.m. EST) from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California. The rocket deposited WISE into a polar orbit 326 miles above Earth.
"WISE thundered overhead, lighting up the pre-dawn skies," said William Irace, the mission's project manager at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, Calif. "All systems are looking good, and we are on our way to seeing the entire infrared sky better than ever before."
Engineers acquired a signal from the spacecraft via NASA's Tracking and Data Relay Satellite System just 10 seconds after the spacecraft separated from the rocket. Approximately three minutes later, WISE re-oriented itself with its solar panels facing the sun to generate its own power.

PerceptronR AutoGauge PlusT
Plymouth MI, USA – Perceptron, Inc. has announced the release of AutoGauge Plus - the first in-process gauging system that offers freeform surface scanning and discrete feature measurement in one solution. With AutoGauge Plus, users can create a fully-customized gauging solution that automatically converts from collecting precise, discrete measurements to capturing complete 3D point clouds.
While the system is operating in discrete measurement mode, the robot quickly moves from feature to feature capturing images and calculating deviations from design intent.
Those measurement results are then stored in Perceptron’s proprietary database for further reporting and statistical analysis.
