New Products : Introducing the New IC-LPM Series of Liquid Paddlewheel Flow Meters

newproducts icenta Controls' new range of industrial inline flow meters offer many benefits for continuous liquid flow monitoring

The IC-LPM series of paddlewheel metersWilton, UK -- The IC-LPM series of paddlewheel meters provides accurate flow rate monitoring over the range of 0.5 to 1200 l/min with standard nominal sizes up to 50 mm.

A simple yet robust stainless steel construction offers excellent corrosion resistance and a versatile design with custom options can be easily adapted to meet varying flow monitoring requirements, such as:

* additional meter sizes and flow ranges,
* threaded or flanged connections,
* a selection of outputs,
* flow instruments and displays,
* a choice of 3 temperature ratings (up to 120 °C, 230 °C or 350 °C) and
* pressures up to 100 bar or greater by request.

The IC-LPM paddlewheel meter features a freely supported paddlewheel impeller mounted on a bearing and pin assembly.

Applications : Protein Concentration Prior to Separation & Analysis

apps
miVac RangeIpswich, UK & Stone Ridge NY, USA -- Many research applications require concentration of dilute protein solutions. The miVac sample concentrator from Genevac provides a proven efficient and cost effective alternative to membrane centrifugation techniques for protein concentration prior to separation or analysis.

For laboratories looking to pre-concentrate protein solutions prior to chromatographic separation and analysis, membrane centrifugation was traditionally the method of choice.

However, for laboratories that use large numbers of membranes per year there is an alternative, the miVac sample concentrator. Using membrane centrifugation valuable sample is often lost due to protein binding to the membrane.

New Products : High Temperature Ultrasonic Flow Meter

newproducts Uses patented 'time-of-flight' ultrasonic technology

Atrato ultrasonic flowmeterSherbourne, UK -- Titan Enterprises has announced a new high temperature version of its low cost Atrato ultrasonic flowmeter.

Capable of operating up to 110 °C, the new Atrato is purpose designed for applications involving high temperature cooling water and oils.

The Atrato is true inline, non-invasive flow meter without the contorted flow path and disadvantages of alternative ultrasonic designs. It can handle flows from laminar to turbulent and is therefore largely immune from viscosity.

It also offers excellent turndown, linearity and repeatability.

Atrato flowmeters use patented 'time-of-flight' ultrasonic technology that enables them to operate over very wide flow ranges (250:1) with excellent accuracy (better than ±1.5%) over the whole span.

New Products : First Refractive Index Detector for UHPLC

newproducts The first RI detector designed for use with UHPLC systems using columns packed with small beads

Santa Barbara CA, USA -- Using a combination of miniaturized components and cutting-edge semiconductor photodiode technology as well as proprietary computer algorithms, the UT-rEX presents a host of instrument firsts:

Besides UV, mass spectrometry and evaporative light scattering, there has been no RI detector available for UHPLC applications until now. The linearity of the UT-rEX over a wide concentration range coupled with its sensitivity to samples that are not UV active, make it an exciting addition to UHPLC.

Due to the extremely small volumes of UHPLC, the dead volume from the UT-rEX is <1.5 µL as compared to 10-20 µL or more from other RI detectors.

As a result, the superior resolution from UHPLC columns and instruments will not be compromised with the UT-rEX RI detector.
