New Products : 1000C (1800F) Optical Sensors for Pressure, Temperature & Multiple Parameters

newproducts
Oxford, UK, -- Oxsensis Ltd has launched, Wave‐Phire™, the world’s first commercially available 1000°C (1800°F) dynamic pressure sensor and the first of a range of sensor products designed for use at extreme temperatures which are immune to EMI effects.

Oxsensis is developing the Wave‐Phire™ series of sensors, which are dynamic pressure sensors capable of operating up to 1000°C (1800°F). The system has been used in several full scale gas turbine trials as well as in combustion rigs up to 1000°C and has shown measurement capability, repeatability and equally importantly good survivability.

Further development of the range will extend the measurement capability to allow dynamic and static pressure, and temperature from a single sensor head, at far hotter locations then has previously been possible with conventional sensors.

David Gahan, the CEO of Oxsensis declared, “Oxsensis is proud to introduce the world’s first commercially available sensor for temperatures up to 1000°C (1800°F), the first product in our range of sensors designed to allow unprecedented direct access to the hottest parts of the engine”.

New Products : Daintree Networks SNA adds Decode Support for 6LoWPAN, SimpliciTI, Synkro...

newproducts New flexible decode engine allows the Sensor Network Analyzer to decode any protocol stack
Sensor Network AnalyzerFREMONT, CA, USA — Daintree Networks, Inc. has announced that the latest release of its popular Sensor Network Analyzer (SNA) now provides decode support for multiple standards-based and proprietary protocol stacks.

Daintree’s SNA provides the industry’s most comprehensive solution for both the development and deployment of systems based on IEEE® 802.15.4™ and ZigBee®.

This latest release adds to that with decodes available for the 6LoWPAN, SimpliciTI™ (from Texas Instruments) and Synkro (from Freescale) network protocols, and also provides the ability to add support for decoding new protocol stacks.

“We’re excited to be introducing this new flexible decode capability for the SNA,” said Zachary Smith, Daintree Networks CTO. “We’ve had many requests to extend the SNA to support a wider range of wireless sensor and control protocols, and we’re proud of the solution we’ve come up with. All protocol definitions are stored in XML format, which makes it easy to add new protocols—simply code them up in XML, plug them in to the SNA, and off you go!”

New Products : Checker 252 Vision Sensors from Cognex

newproducts Vision Sensors with Gauging Verification
Natick MA, USA -- The new Checker 252 has been added to Cognex's award-winning Checker vision sensor product line. In addition to all the inspection capabilities of the Checker family, the 252 adds verification of height, width and diameter, making pass/fail measurement verification simple and reliable.

Key to the simplicity of the Checker 252 is its One-Click Setup™. By simply clicking on the center of the part feature to be inspected, an image of a caliper appears and locks on the edges of the part feature, sets the minimum and maximum thresholds and learns edge polarity…all automatically.

New Products : Noncontact position sensor exploits FPGA technology for higher performance

newproducts NEW ECL202 eddy-current displacement/position sensor
St. Paul MN, USA -- The new ECL202 eddy-current displacement/position sensor has significantly improved thermal stability and immunity to electromagnetic interference (EMI) as well as improved linearity and resolution.

The sensor employs FPGA technology enabling complex, proprietary mathematical algorithms to achieve higher performance levels than purely analog methods.

According to Don Martin, president of Lion Precision, “Using FPGA digital processing techniques, we can achieve performance that simply is not possible with discrete analog electronics.”

Digital technology can very precisely detect the sensor’s signal and more easily differentiate it from other electrical signals present in the sensing environment.

This means the sensor continues to work well in electrically noisy environments such as near motor controllers or other high-power switching electronics. Using this same proprietary method, multiple ECL202 sensors can be positioned near each other without the mutual interference usually experienced with eddy-current sensors.
